An Emotional Day for McFadden
By: Martha | January 2nd, 2008Everton’s James McFadden got his start in football at Motherwell, during Phil O’Donnell’s first tenure with the club; like many others in and out of Scotland, he knew and admired the midfielder, and has good friends in his extended family. It’s no surprise, then, that McFadden twice found himself in tears yesterday, first after the moment of silence for O’Donnell before the Middlesborough-Everton match, and then when he was substitute off towards the end of the contest. In between, he scored his team’s second goal, celebrating by grabbing his black armband and pointing skyward.
