Albo, the expression refers to him moving to Inter Milan shortly while finishing out his days at Genoa. They certainly didn’t mean anything bad by the use of the term and it is merely one of those phrases that translate poorly. As another example Chris noted Thiago Motta said “shush” but he really didn’t say precisely that : )

yowie, it was something along the lines of attacking the fans who jeered the team at the airport, he said something along the lines of calling them glory-hunters or mercenaries or something. Obviously didn’t take it well.

That fight erupted between Torino and Genoa basically because Torino has been the biggest underachieving team over the last few years, and with Genoa nothing to play for, the team kind of expected them to roll over. They did not.

hi can i just ask what exactly did maldini say in 2005?
for all the service that he provided milan, fans can be a bit fickle…
but he was a gentleman abt it nonetheless.
