And now the WAGs are on the Foreign Office payroll

The life of a footballers’ wife or girlfriend is not an easy one. With all the time and money they have to spend keeping up their appearance it is a wonder that they have any time left to write books or to offer travel advice on a website run by the British Foreign Office.
Charlotte Mears, who is a model when she isn’t busy being the girlfriend of Tottenham’s Jermain Defoe, somehow convinced someone in the Foreign Office that she is an expert in how to travel in style. Her words of wisdom appear in the Foreign Office’s “Know Before You Go” Campaign to advise British travellers to be better prepared before they go abroad.
Miss Meares, who was paid an undisclosed amount for her time, said: “It’s amazing how many things can go wrong when you are travelling.
“So I wanted to share my top-tips for a hassle-free trip.”
Wags and wannabees are warned to check their hotel has a beauty parlour before travelling, or research local beautician’s numbers.
Miss Meares writes: “You never know when you might break a nail or your extensions turn green in the pool.
“To stay looking your best even if you are not taking a personal stylist with you, get the number of good local beauticians or check if the hotel has one before you go.”
Miss Meares also advises girls not to wear a camouflage bikini in the Caribbean, where camouflage is illegal, or to drink too close to a church in Florence.
Words to live by, my friends. We all should know by now that the only appropriate place to wear a camouflage bikini is on the battlefield.

‘even if you are not taking a personal stylist with you’?
Doesn’t *everyone* travel with their personal stylist? I know I wouldn’t go anywhere without mine.
