Another Soccer Viewing Option in the US: ESPN360.com

By: Laurie | February 13th, 2008

soccer-computer.jpgIf you’re like me and feel that we don’t have enough viewing options in the US, let me offer up a broadband option that I wasn’t aware of till last week: ESPN360.com.

No guarantees for anybody else, but I was able to watch it for free because my service provider, Verizon, apparently has a contract with ESPN, so it’s part of my DSL package. If I were so inclined at this moment, I could go in and watch the US-Mexico game again, or several recent Serie A games. Next week it’s some of the Champions League games, or more Serie A games. And I’m thinking that once MLS season gets underway, we may get the option of re-watching ESPN2 games we have to miss. (Don’t quote me here. I’m not finding independent verification at the moment.) And if you’re an LA Galaxy or Houston Dynamo fan (or a Gamba Osaka or Sydney FC fan, for that matter,) the Pan-Pacific tournament games will be available next week also.

From their website. (And no, we’re not getting paid for the plug. But thanks for the idea.)

– Watch up to 6 games all at the same time
– Select from a menu of live or recently completed games and events
– DVR features that allow for you to pause, rewind, and fast forward games and events
– Control the video selections for each window
– Choose to view in wide or standard size window available in a variety of modes - full screen, compact or mosaic

I’m trying to decide if watching six games at once would be really cool or a road to the lunatic asylum. I’ll get back to you.

Jeff, you can try these (mostly pretty much not terribly legal) sites. They post links on game day. You’ll need to download software, but it’s pretty self-explanatory. Not that I’m, y’know, advocating piracy or anything. :-)
