Arsenal Ladies Putting Arsenal Men to Shame

By: Daryl | May 6th, 2008

Another trophy-less season for Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal men. But another trophy-filled season for the Arsenal Ladies, who beat Leeds Utd Ladies 4-1 at the City Ground last night to record a third successive league and cup double. Maybe they could gift a trophy to the men?

Young Leeds goalkeeper Carly Telford kept Arsenal out with a string of saves in the first half, but the floodgates opened when Arsenal scored three in six second half minutes.

All that and there was a streaker too…

Women’s FA Cup final

Thanks for reporting on women’s football, too. Too bad there were only 5,000 fans allowed into the Emirates stadium.

It looked liked Leeds’ goalie wasn’t even trying in the highlights, she let in a lot of easy goals that even my dog could have blocked.
