Back in the Swing of Things

By: Bob | February 22nd, 2007

bellamy-golf.jpgSometimes I am amazed by how the sports world works. First a guy gets in trouble and is publicly scorned by fans, players and journalists alike. He is the second coming of Satan. He has always had a history of being an asshole. He doesn’t even eat vegetables. And then it is game time and the villain who has been put through the wringer does something that only is done in movie scripts. He scores a goal and he takes a piss at those who publicly scorned him by mocking the situation in his goal celebration. Suddenly he isn’t so bad after all. He is in fact the second coming of Christ. He is not an asshole but rather a free spirit. He always eats all of his vegetables. He is the toast of the town, until he does something stupid again and the cycle starts over once again.

It’s the ‘nobody can call my brother a name except me’ syndrome. Even though, I want to add, just for the record, I’ve never called Bellamy anything except maybe a f**k up.
