Beckham Offseason Dilemma: Train in England or play with Tom Cruise
By: Bob | October 23rd, 2007
Now that he has five games under his belt with the LA Galaxy, David Beckham faces the choice of what to do while on hiatus from MLS. He’ll be part of a world tour that will take him to Vancouver, Minnesota, New Zealand and Australia, but that is hardly enough to keep his goldenballs from rusting during the winter months in Southern California. He needs more competition, more activity, a physical challenge that can only be found in Ipswich and a mental challenge that can only come from close association with Scientology.
For a brief moment in time Tuesday there was talk that Beckham would forgo the beaches of Malibu for the training ground of Ipswich Town, but that was scuttled quicker than you could say “Tractor Boys,” the delightful nickname for the Championship League club.
Bad news for Ipswhich Town supports, but great news for BFF Tom Cruise, who has his own plans for keeping Beckham in shape.
“We will go out and fly some airplanes or race some cars or something like that,” he said. “I’ll talk to Victoria and see if she’s all right with that. But we’ll have some fun.”
Somewhere Alexi Lalas is standing on a window ledge at this very moment….
