Bend it Like Muhammad Hardi Jaafar

By: Bob | January 25th, 2007

I’ll admit that after Laos were eliminated I stopped paying very close attention to the ASEAN football championship. The competition isn’t that brilliant without teams losing 11-0 on a nightly basis. Nevertheless, the action has gone on and some of it hasn’t been too bad. In the video above, Malaysian winger Muhammad Hardi Jaafar scores a nifty goal from the touchline. The first time I watched it I could have sworn he was aiming in the wrong direction. Jaafar’s team, by the way, drew with Singapore 1-1 in the first leg of the semifinals. The replay is on Saturday.

A bit lucky but a nice strike. You don’t see many scored from that wide.
