Benfica is almost as popular as Scientology

Benfica currently resides in third place in Portugal’s football league, but the Lisbon giants are first in the hearts of their legions of fans. Benfica has been officially recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as being the football club with the most members. The “Glorious One” had 160,398 paid members as of November, which means that if the club had a party and all of its members showed up they would have 8,000 more guests than the second biggest team, Manchester United. You can bet that Jim Mouth is now a Benfica fan.
