Best MLS Goals of 2008

“Best MLS Goals” is not an oxymoron, so you haters can just shut up now. Despite the appearance of the occasional American football line, there are some really sweet goals here.

(And this LA fan truly appreciates that the creator of this video did not include too many of the numerous goals scored against the Galaxy. Thanks for not simply picking the low-hanging fruit, dude.)

I didn't see Yura Movsysian's backheel goal against Chivas USA in the 90th minute of their first playoff game; it was off an almost to the end line pass from Javier Morales and Yura, in the middle of a gaggle of defenders, backheeled it right past the Chivas Keeper. Here's the video:

There were some beautiful goals this year. More from long range than I'd remembered. Nice note to end with Gallardo's goal. Not my choice for goal of the year, but a memorably sweet one.

Any chump could have scored Beckham's goal, especially any professional footballer chump.
