Biting Files: Salvatore Aronica Is The New Mike Tyson

Unless you’re wielding a vicious left hook, those are words one never wants to hear.

There was a mini-kerfuffle at the end of the draw between Napoli & Roma this weekend, which, at the time, was just thought to be the normal proceedings of a heated mini-derby. That was until the interviews, when Mirko Vucinic came out swinging, saying Salvatore Aronica had tried to bite him Mike Tyson-style near the end of injuries. Not that Mirko is bound to make baseless accusations, but it seemed a little far fetched.

And we come to find out a day later…there’s video evidenceand Aronica is very much the new Mike Tyson. There’s just no way not to love Serie A.

Mirko, as he tends to do, was busy giving a patronizing lecture to Aronica after a foul – the headmaster’s scolding posture in the still tells the whole story – which then prompted Salvatore to nibble at Vucinic’s thigh:

If I held the skills to pull video and snip it into YouTube-sized nuggets, I’d do so – but this is the best I’ve got of the Chomp Heard Round Napoli. Having replayed it a few times, it’s very much the real deal.
