Blame Football Manager Video Game for Overpopulation

video-game-nerd.jpgWhen you think about guys who sit around all day playing video games, you undoubtedly think about dudes that have no problem attracting the ladies. Who doesn’t get turned on by watching someone else mash buttons for hours with the occasional stoppage for a Doritos break? There is nothing sexier than that according to “research” performed by the people who make the Football Manager video game.

In what has to be one of the greatest leap-of-faith conclusions ever, Sports Interactive and SEGA have determined that between 1995 and 2005 birth rates were at their highest in July. Why does that matter? Because July is nine months after Football Manager is released. Therefore by transitive property Football Manager is helping people get knocked up.

Let’s defer to an expert to explain why.

Dr Pam Spurr, well-known relationship psychologist and sex expert, looked into why it could be that Football Manager™ seems to give couples a boost in the bedroom.

“There are a number of key reasons why Football Manager may actually enhance a couple’s sex-life. The excitement and adrenaline generated by playing FM boosts the player’s mood leading to more action in the bedroom! However if a couple’s argued over how much he’s been playing this could lead to passionate make-up sex. Also if he’s a keen player they may look for times to slip in a quick sex session between matches.”

And all this time I thought video games were a form of birth control….
