Brazilian Fan Threatens Suicide After Relegation

By: chris | December 10th, 2008

Vasco da Gama was relegated for the first ever time in its history this weekend, making it the second year in a row a major Brazilian club has been sent to the second division merely for being crap (their craptasticness having its reasons, however). One fan took this especially hard and decided a way to make himself feel better would be to climb to the top of the stadium and threaten to jump. Luckily what looks to be a few police offers along with some good samaritan fans snatched him before he was able to leap. After which he was, of course, arrested. Nothing cures depression like a night in jail.

I’m sure this has to do with the clubs past political and financial issues, like the rest of Brazilian football, sadly.

not just this, but Brasil and Argentina proudly have the best and post proud/passionate/loyal crowds in the planet. Where else will you see torcedores rolling up hand made banners to possibly catch the dude ? i saw this on TV yesterday, good that this is catching up.
