Bulgarian Man tries to Legally Change his name to ‘Manchester United’
By: Bob | February 28th, 2007
We’ve seen the length fans will go to show their support for their favorite football club through tattoos, but a fan in Bulgaria has taken support to the next level. For the past two years Marin Levidzhev has been fighting a legal battle to have his name legally changed to Manchester United. Alas, he has achieved the equivalent of a legal name-change draw.
Magistrates in Bulgaria have ruled that he can now call himself Manchester Levidzhev but that his love for the Red Devils is not a valid reason enough for his surname to become United.
Mr. United Levidhev plans on appealing the decision to a higher court.
“I feel as if I am only at the half-time break. I won’t feel right until I get all my name changed to Manchester United,” he said.
“I love the club. It’s my whole life and I want my name to reflect that.”
No word yet on whether he also plans on changing his middle name to something equally appropriate like ‘Wanker’.

How hard could it be for him to find a woman on the internet with the last name of United and to marry her and then take her name? The man has got to use the power of technology to see his dream through.

Like that guy who legally changed his name to Peyton Manning after the Bears lost the Super Bowl.
