ok cannavaro is a good defender did a great job at the WC and had a good solid season at juve now not as good with real madrid.he should be 3rd.

Ronaldinho was immense all season at barca last season and had a poor world cup still hes managed 2 make barcalona a attractive place hes single handedly turned barcalona 2 a great side hes got the beautiful skill pace balance and he enjoyes it many stars forget what football is all about.2nd

now for the top prize steven gerrard now hes the heart of englands and liverpools midfield i think he is very underated the off ball runs he makes the shots the passion and drive and not scared of 2 say what he thinks the guy won the english FA cup.The reason he doesnt get reckonised enough is because liverpool are not a massive team like real madrid,barcalona or ac milan.no1

i think a candidate for 2nd or 3rd would be KAKA the guys vision and everything abut him is great i wont say 2 much incase this gets a bit boring!!!!

No shite, Cannavaro can’t play offense, Ronaldinho doesn’t know how to spell defense, and Zidane is just old. Gerrard is the best all-round player in the world, period.

Ronaldinho, the beeeeeeeeest player i ever seen. I know he couldn’t do any thing in the world cup. but a single tournament is not all. You will have to consider overall things.
Fortunately, WE, the football lovers have got chance to see RONALDINHO, the greatest player in the football history, his OWN STYLE OF MAGIC.
He deserves the AWARD.

personally i am a huge zidane fan but i’ll try my best to be unbiased with my comment.

Cannavaro – solid season with juventus (the same juventus that was found guilty of being apart of the match fixing scandals in serie a), he also had a good world cup and was part of a very good defensive italian squad.

ronaldinho – great season with barca but was totally shut out in the world cup.

zidane – mediocre season with real madrid, scored 9 goals in la liga which is his highest ever in spain and had a fantastic world cup which ended infamously.

i personally think that it might be cannavaro that’ll take it due to italy’s world cup victory. with zidane as the runner up and ronaldinho as third. if zidane did win it, i don’t think he would accept the honor. he doens’t want to be handed awards that he doesn’t deserve and that head butt is the only reason why he will not win first place. deep down i do want to see zidane as the sole 4 time winner of the award.
