Eriksson consistantly guided us to the top 8 (you could say that is was our level) and yet the people of this country are outraged he didn't win something. Its taken a failed qualification and an overhaul at Manchester City for us to realise how lucky we were in the first place. I think the FA are just pandering to the people unfortunatly. But I think being 8th best in the world at worst is hardly something to be ashamed of. What an arrogant thing to demand, one month before the Euros start without England. Especially since the main reason for England's absence is the manager they appointed. And it seems very narrow minded and arbitrary to demand semi-finals. What if England play brilliant football and then have a magnificent battle with Brazil in the quarter finals before losing on penalties? What if they play like shit for the whole tournament but get an easy path to the semi-finals where they get humiliated 5-0 the first time they meet a good team? Would Capello really deserve to be fired in the first case or to keep his job in the second case? I can’t stand the FA.
