fwembt – Any mid COULD have scored, but Gerrard does this more than another other mid in the world. He’s put together quite a nice collection of last-gasp winners in the past few seasons.

And it was a moment of brilliance from another lack-luster day for him. But isn’t that why he’s the captain? And probably also why he makes more in a week than I do in a year.

Why is it that Gerrard will get an undying amout of credit for this goal when it was one that most any mid could have scored? The media obsession with him is sickening.

Was just wondering. I don’t know much arabic besides some basic phrases and I heard that. I figured it meant something like “Oh My God” but thanks for the clarification! The goal was ordinary except for it’s timing though. A ball bouncing off of someone’s ass into the net in the 93rd minute to win will get celebrated like Maradona scored it (as it should).

the guy is saying allah as a sign of admiration nothing else…..it is frequently used in arabic commentating!!!

the goal is ordinary, nothing exceptional. mido’s goal was way better!!!

the announcer isnt really saying “gerrard is god”..its meant more like “oh my god gerrard!, oh my god gerrard!…”.. but he does goes on to call him king gerrard tho, lol..

Wow.. you can really tell no one watched the match. Gerrard was being called Captain Anonymous up until that point because he hadn’t done a thing the entire game. And I wouldn’t go so far as to call Liverpool lucky as we were given silly yellow cards, denied fouls, and then had the referee wave play on when a free kick could be given only to stop play once Kuyt was in a great spot for the advantage.

Not a great showing, but it’s progress and thankfully the progress came up with 3 points.
