From that day on we knew that Liverpool would play Standard Liege, and that Barcelona would play the winners of game 12 (Beitar Jerusalem vs Wisla Krakow)... All that was learnt after the second leg of the second qulifying round was that it was Wisla and not Beitar that would play Barcelona. They've got a tough road, though, with their seemingly-superpowered GK injured and a new boss to get accustomed to. That said, they've got some great outfield talent on the squad (I'm not looking at you, Kuranyi) if they can all get going in the same direction. I don't know much about Atletico, but it will definitely be one to watch. I’ve got my fingers crossed for Schalke to make it through. Strange logic seeing that Barca is changing manager, missing their best player (like Liverpool), their best striker (not like Liverpool who just bought a new striker) and are undergoing a re-building process... That UEFA Cup campaign seems to have given them some exposure... of the bad kind, at least since people who don't even know about the SPL know they don't like Rangers FC. And let me just say, this post was so well done. Nothing special about the subject matter, but the blogger makes it so fun to read..
