Don’t say these things about Sporting CP, Bob… They’ve systematically been very close to winning the domestic league.
If anything, their usual below par european performance is mainly due to lack of tradition in it, as well as also usually having a young team – they’re the ones with less money, when compared with Porto and Benfica. Who have a far bigger european pedigree – Benfica won it some 3 times and went to 7 finals. Porto won it twice…
