Champions League: Open Thread
By: Bob | April 10th, 2007
There are a pair of great Champions League games today with Manchester United hosting Roma, and Chelsea playing on the road against Valencia. I’m not around to liveblog, but if you want to have fun in my absence here is an open thread to discuss the action and/or the meaning of life. Play nicely and enjoy the games.

I died after that third goal and have since returned to life to enjoy the rest of this game. Sorry about this Brian, but I wanna see Man U in the final (vs. Liverpool so my pals will be happy, too).

Goddamn Chelsea. Lampard puts in another terrible free-kick, but seconds later it somehow ends up in a scrambled goal.

I don’t care who we play. We have to get by PSV Eindhoven tomorrow though.

Come on 7-0!!!
keep the goals coming, ManU is back and everyone doubted that Glazer could not do it, well world I think this season has proven all you haters wrong……ManU will ascend to the top of Europe.

Man, I’m having trouble breathing watching the Chelsea-Valencia match.

I’m not talking about just this match, but the success that has occurred since Glazer purchased the team…..both financially and on the pitch…..The fact that many people claimed that Glazer would ruin ManU is ludicrous and we are seeing that now, with ManU at the top of the premier league and succeeding in Champions Cup…..
time for class…

David, he is running it into the ground. Let’s take a look at their squad. What happens when Giggs, Scholes, Neville, and Ferdinand lose a step? Do you think he’s going to spend a hundred million pounds to replace those guys? No, Glazer will sell the club before he does that. They are screwed.
Wow. nice save.
Anyhow, how many cups has Man U won since Glazer has taken over? I’ll save you the trouble, one.
That’s right, ONE.
They haven’t won anything yet this year and with their current form, it’s not looking as if they will.

Don’t count your chickens just yet, David. Man Utd’s debt has only grown since the takeover, they’re still not even servicing all the interest (sorry, I know this is wildly off-topic, but the score is 6-1).

Well. THAT was painful. I watched the first twenty minutes of ManU-Roma, then switched to Chelsea. Both ended depressingly. Sigh. The only bright spot was seeing my French defender Patrice Evra score a Champions League goal. How often does THAT happen?
(And thank you, thank you, thank you to Roma for sparing Lyon this fate.)
