Cheeky Lob Goals

It is enjoyable watching players fire a rocket into the goal but those hard shots deny us all the ability to use the word ‘cheeky’. This is an adjective that should be a staple in our lexicon. The video above shows some lobs and chips that appear next to cheeky in the dictionary. The music deserves its own definition.

  I thought that it was a soccer reporting law that the word “cheeky” could be used only when combined with the word “backheel.” As in: “Now wasn’t that a cheeky littly backheel?”

  (And you have to say it with a British accent. It’s the law.)
