China to Repay Chelsea for their Hospitality

Now that their Olympic football team has returned home from their England tour, it is China’s turn to play host. Chelsea have announced that they will be touring the country with their first team in 2008 ahead of the Olympics. After welcoming the Chinese athletes with a cratered training pitch, co-ed showering facilities and a kung-fu brawl with Queens Park Rangers, one can only imagine the treatment Chelsea’s players will receive while training on the mainland. It is not like China knows a thing or two about torture or anything. One bit of advice for Lampard and Co.: avoid the crayfish in Shanghai. My stomach still hates me for it and that was three years ago.

In other news that may or may not elicit vomiting, David Beckham could make his LA Galaxy debut against Chelsea on July 21.
