Christmas for the Fan: Football Manager 2009 Released

By: chris | November 13th, 2008

Time to close the books, let your boss know your productivity levels will hover somewhere around Dubya’s approval rating, buy some Febreze/air freshener as a substitute for laundry detergent, switch your speed dial from Mom, Dad, Girl/Guy, Work to Pizza, Chinese, Pizza, Thai and tell your significant other you want to take a break – at least until you win the league. Football Manager 2009 is released today (Friday the 14th) and the phrase “free time” now has no meaning in The Football Fan’s Lexicon. Go get ‘em, tiger. And just remember: no matter what happens, you can’t be as bad as Juande.

Is this game available in the US? It looks like it can’t be found around here, but if I bought a british version (on say, amazon) could i play it here?

(although i really don’t need any more reasons to neglect my schooling)

    Mustafa,

Yes, the British version will work in the US (on a PC it will anyway, don’t know what the deal is with games consoles etc).

And if you buy it in the US it’s actually called “Worldwide Soccer Manager 2009″ and is due for release on November 19th. Apart from the title it’s exactly the same game, so not sure why US buyers have to wait the extra 5 days.
