Citeh Continues Market Assault; Ronaldo Gets A Job.
By: chris | September 16th, 2008
Or so it seems. Ronaldo, the real/plump one, has dropped an enormous hint that he’ll soon be joining Brazilian playtime buddy Robinho in the other side of Manchester as Citeh attempts to woo anyone and everyone in global football toting a name. Perhaps Mark Hughes & Co. should ring up Florentine Perez and ask him how the first Galacticos stint went before they go any further. Then again, maybe not, for the sake of the neutral fan. Anyway, Ronaldo, still back in Brazil working towards fitness and with a therapist to erase the memories of his infamous late night faux pas with a street walker of unknown gender, has apparently decided on his next European adventure.
“I like the project that Manchester City have presented me. They want to make the club one of the best in the world and I feel that I can help. It is the best offer I’ve received and it will be very interesting to play with Robinho. Me and him, together, we can score more than 50 goals.”
Bit disappointed in the journalists present, who failed to follow up and ask him where he was acquiring the time machine. 50 goals? This year? Or over the life of both their contracts? Because Ronaldo has scored 10 since the beginning of ‘06 and Robinho scored 25 in 3 years at the Bernabeu - still 7 short of £1m per goal, that. Actually, they did spend one full year at Real Madrid together. Total haul? 22. Just short of halfway there. Maybe a bit overzealous.
And does anyone quite think Ronaldinho might be regretting his decision to turn down Citeh’s advances in lieu of Milan this summer? Maybe so. Just imagine telling someone last September that in one year Man City could easily have a front line boasting Ronaldo, Robinho and Ronaldinho. Absolutely unthinkable.
As far as signings go, for a club like Citeh, who are still a mid table club despite their recent lottery win, signing the greatest striker of the last X number of years, still not past it in sheer terms of age, on a free could be considered something of a coup. At worst their deeper than deep pockets cut a meaningless salary; at best Ronaldo dusts off the old dancing shoes and goes for one last jawdropping run to glory. Something which may not be all that unfathomable, if highly unlikely. Before his latest injury he did look good at times for Milan and did score 7 in 12 during the second half of 06-07 in those devilish pinstripes. Enough to have some people fearing a Milan side featuring a buff and motivated Ronaldo in the ranks. (Didn’t turn out so well.)
That said, it’s his latest injury - of many. Is he past it? Certainly seems that way. But he is far from a normal talent, with that old saying knocking loudly, “form is temporary, class is permanent”. Could be the dawn of two meaningful Ronaldo’s in town. And I certainly cannot wait until someone asks “which Ronaldo?” only to be answered with “the one from Manchester”.
(Just make sure to let the hookers there are now two Ronaldo’s on the prowl, so hike up those skirts and pull down those shirts, because there’s a good time to be had and a pound to be made on every corner.)

he has nothing to lose if he goes to man city. quick buck before retiring. however, he made the mistake of moving to milan at such an age, when you are in 30’s the best thing is to stay at you club, be in good relation with the higher ups and hope you retire well in honor, not in some ditch playing for some unknown team in asia or eastern europe.

You are all just jealous! How could anyone compare C. Ronaldo with the real Ronaldo. Ronaldo is the best player the world has ever seen and there is many players now which are much better than C. Ronaldo.

^^ I agree with you 100%…I may be getting too ahead of myself considering Ronaldo just started training again, but I think Ronaldo could make it back to the Brazilian national team…at least by the 2014 WC.

ENOUGH WITH YOUR CRITICISM REGARDING THE GREAT RONALDO !!!! WE CAN ONLY HOPE FOR THE BEST WHEN RONALDO RETURNS IN GREAT PHYSICAL SHAPE TO HELP OUT HIS TEAM WHERE EVER THAT MAY BE. SUCH PESSIMISM BY SOME OF YOU CLEARLY SHOWS HOW ENVIOUS HUMAN BEINGS CAN BE. DROP THAT NEGATIVE ATTITUDE TOWARDS GREAT PLAYERS LIKE RONALDO AND LET POSITIVENESS SHINE FOREVER !!!!!
STOP IT !!!! STOP IT !!!!! STOP IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
