Claudio Ranieri to Coach Juventus
By: Bob | June 4th, 2007
Last week at this time it seemed all but certain that Claudio Ranieri would take his coaching show to Manchester City, but like many a great plan this one has been foiled by a lady. The lady in question is the Old Lady, Juventus, who announced today that the one-time Chelsea boss will be running the show in Turin for at least the next three years.
Ranieri joins Juventus after helping to lead Parma out of relegation trouble. He joins a Juve club that has successfully finished its season in Serie B purgatory and who reportedly tried to lure World Cup winning Italy coach Marcello Lippi into the fold only to be turned down.
The Tinkerman, famous for his ever changing lineups, will be in charge of a team that probably will be one of the big spenders this transfer season and that more than likely will compete for a Champions League place in the coming Serie A campaign. I was kind of hoping he would move to England if for no other reason than that I find his accent charming, but I can’t fault him for choosing Juventus over Manchester City.
Meanwhile, the man who replaced him at Chelsea is eager to remain in England even if that means managing Crystal Palace. Now that is something I’d like to see.

This guy systematically made my club (Valencia) what they are today in the late-90’s and them systematically tore them down after a title-winning season in 2005.
I dunno what to think of the Tinkerman except to say ‘Good Luck’ Juventus fans, because this guy will drive you crazy …Posted from

Hooray! I’m so glad he’s staying in Italy. The few months with Parma was just no enough.
