Club World Rankings
By: Bob | October 3rd, 2006
With a fancy sounding name like The International Federation of Football History & Statistics, you can’t help but respect their authority in such matters as ranking the best club teams in the world. The IFFHS has released the current rankings of the top 346 teams in the world based on its almost understandable formula.
The top club? None other than UEFA Cup holders Sevilla, followed closely by fellow La Liga studs Barcelona and Serie A pretenders AC Milan. At the other end of the spectrum is some guy named Marshal Mubarek, who plays in Uzbekistan, and comes in as the 346th ranked team.
As with any type of ranking system, one always has to take it with a grain of salt, especially if you are a fan of Major League Soccer and happen to see that only one team, the 287th ranked LA Galaxy, made the list.
