Coming Soon: The Offside
By: Bob | July 21st, 2006
We’ve had so much fun with World Cup Blog that we have decided to keep the party going. In the coming weeks, we will launch The Offside. The site will take a humorous (we think), irreverent (we think) and occasionally insightful (possibly) look at club football from leagues around the world. If there is a sex scandal in England, we’ll be stuck in the middle of it. If a player is traded for a thousand pounds of beef in Romania, we’ll cook the steak. If something interesting happens in MLS, we’ll be just as surprised as you.
Check back soon for the official launch of this site and while you are at it you might as well continue to read World Cup Blog. You will be rewarded in the afterlife. That is a money-back guarantee.

I’m looking foward to it, as long as you cover La Liga. Visca Barca!

Please do. I enjoyed the World Cup Blog, and look forward to a unified soccer blogging experience. Remember that the Libertadores resumes the 18th of July and Euro Cup 2008 qualifiers start the 6th of August (and a promising Italy-France game on the 9th of September)…

Whoo-hoo!!
Bob & Co., glad to see you will keep up the good work.
Now that the World Cup’s over, go ahead and take a week off – heck, take two weeks. You’ve earned it.
Not to put too much pressure, but we expect something up and running before the EPL kicks-off.

I even got a chuckle out of reading your preview of the new site. Should be good!

Yay!
Now, perhaps you will be able to decipher the craziness that is all things Italian Football Relegation Scandal for me. First they’re going down! Then, maybe not so much. In what way did Berlusconi get into this mix (other than being team owner and media baron)? I confess to being a little hazy on the whys and wherefores of it all. Oh and that includes why no players have been indicted!
Inquiring minds want to know, and you guys are the ones who can dig out the truth along with the 1,000 pounds of beef.
