Crazy Goalkeepers, Crazy Good Saves

It takes a certain type of person to willingly volunteer to stand in goal and let players rifle shots your way. Goalkeepers have a well deserved reputation for being a bit off their rocker and perhaps a mild case of insanity is what makes some keepers insanely good. The video below has a collection of wonderful saves, including the Colombian keeper Rene Hiquita’s famous scorpion kick at the :40 mark of the video. I’ve always thought that it would have been even more amazing if he missed it entirely and landed flat on his face.

Agreed. Plus, a "crazy goalkeepers" video that doesn't feature Jens Lehmann jabbing his finger and screaming at some poor bastard who's just gone down injured in front of his goal seems incomplete.

awesome video, but that song is so cringetastically horrible, it ruins it all.
