  Well deserved. He really was the best in 2008. All of the recent talk of Messi’s greatness is warranted but can only apply to 2009.

  I feel these awards are not right, coz there are many more good players out there, who are playing for smaller teams and hence don’t have the chance to shine, for example Aguero, Lavezzi, Benzema etc etc. Had these players been playing for the top teams of the world, then the winner could be different..

  CR was a worthy winner. Other players like messi didn’t have half the year CR did. Argentina’s dry streak continues.

  I think that if Inter wins the scudetto and also win champions league (or at least second place) that Zlatan Ibrahimović will be hands down next years winner.
