Laurie – it is equivalent. :-) Too funny how the English media spins this incident when players and coaches in the EPL spend all day spitting vulgarities at refs, in just about every game. If you can read lips you know what I mean. If I had kids, I’d have to cover their eyes.

Yes, I did actually spend time thinking about whether or not the article had provided the correct translation. And yes, this is one of those days when I’m thinking I need to get out more.

I prefer the translation of Mourinho’s insult that turns it into “son of a whore.” And yes, that’s mostly because I say it all the time (albeit in English) — you can’t deny how it just rolls off the tongue.
