Some news to read as you legally flip people off and drink from an unregistered keg in Belmar, New Jersey:

  • WAG wannabes, dust off your fake nails, fake tans, fake personalities and spike heels. Cristiano Ronaldo is single again (Kickette)
  • MLS: The mooches of the international transfer market (US Soccer Players)
  • Arshavin: Growth stock, or overvalued? (So Many Balls)
  • The tyranny of football. (Why we love it, even when it is unlovable.) (Two Hundred Percent)
  • And if you didn’t click on the link to the Mitchell and Webb comedy skit in the above post, you should do it here. (Show of hands of those guilty of a similar overidentification with your team.) (Sorry. I can’t raise my hand. I’m typing.) (Mitchell and Webb, via YouTube)
  • Apparently DC United and the Chicago Fire are in disagreement over how to handle the Blanco incident (The DCenters)
  • But at least Cuauhtemoc Blanco has issued the standard PR-driven, non-specific apology for the incident(s) in question (The Red Card)
  • A unique reason for retirement from football. (And just fyi, Josh at The Beautiful Game is going to hell for the illustration he has chosen for this post.) (The Beautiful Game)
  • Of course Samuel Eto’o is going to Uzbekistan. The Uzbek team website says so! (The Spoiler)

    And..ahem...*raises hand*

Yep, I have had many a friend poke fun at me when I tell them of how "I was crying tears of joy after we beat Liverpool in the CL Final of 2007" and how "I don't know what we'd do if we couldn't land a quality striker for next season", etc, etc. That skit was hilarious and spot-on. Brilliant.
  • hahaha, i was looking for a picture for at least 30 minutes!

Haha! The Eto'o to Uzbekistan rumor has automatically become my favorite transfer rumor of this season. I was laughing way too much when some posters from Uzbekistan on the ever so reliable goal.com were trying to argue to complete plausibility of the move.
