Dario Silva Scores A Goal
By: chris | January 13th, 2009Yes, that Dario Silva. The former Uruguay star who tragically had his right leg amputated following a car crash just two and a half years ago. He played his first game since then yesterday, a charity event, with a prosthetic leg and managed to get himself on the scoresheet with a simple penalty which was anything but. His great hope is to get to the 2012 Olympics as a rower, and we can only hope this giant athletic leap is the first step in achieving his goal. Standing ovation.

But as a rower you use your legs a lot as well, don’t you?
Not to belittle his accomplishment, but what do you do as the keeper? I mean there’s no way you could save his shot, unless you’ve got no soul and are named Cristiano Ronaldo. He’s probably the only person that would make an attempt to save that penalty. Wanker…Posted from

He’s even able to use the prosthesis to balance himself while kicking. Fantastic spirit!!!
Mele, look again — the GK didn’t make much effort, really, and comes to congratulate him after. I think he’s in on it.
