Dario Silva Scores A Goal

By: chris | January 13th, 2009

Yes, that Dario Silva. The former Uruguay star who tragically had his right leg amputated following a car crash just two and a half years ago. He played his first game since then yesterday, a charity event, with a prosthetic leg and managed to get himself on the scoresheet with a simple penalty which was anything but. His great hope is to get to the 2012 Olympics as a rower, and we can only hope this giant athletic leap is the first step in achieving his goal. Standing ovation.

He's even able to use the prosthesis to balance himself while kicking. Fantastic spirit!!!
