David Beckham’s $3.25 million Goal
By: Laurie | November 30th, 2007Do you want to see what a $3.25 million goal looks like?
Of course you do. Here it is.
I’ll bet you’re wondering where my math came from, aren’t you? Well, I’ll tell you:
Beckham’s 2007 compensation from the LA Galaxy: $6.5 million
Goals scored: 2$6.5 million divided by two is…let’s see…yes, it’s true! $3.25 million!
So there you go. Of course, neither of these goals was scored in league play. One was in the SuperLiga semifinal, and this one was in that recent friendly with Australia. But if we were talking about league play only, we’d have to divide by 0. And that makes my brain hurt. So $3.25 million it is.
(Note to Beckham fans: I KNOW he’s a playmaker more than a goalscorer. And I know things will get better once his body heals. And yes, I genuinely like the guy. But still. $6.5 million is a lot of money.)
