Absolutely a red card! Getting to the ball first is irrelevent. The other player is lucky his leg was not broken.

Cleats up, off the ground. It's a challenge that endangers the safety of the opponent. If you can't make a safe challenge then you DON'T challenge. You can blame the referee but the Laws and his Training from FIFA camps tell him this is ALWAYS a Red Card. I don't know about the other incidents maybe he didn't see them ect, who knows. But this one he saw and he punished correctly according to the Laws of the Game and FIFA Training.

I think it was a red card, because he's sliding in, studs up, most importantly with his foot off the ground in a 50/50. He got to the ball first because he went in dangerously, otherwise he'd be nowhere near it.

The difference between Lamps and Gerrard's tackles is simple, Gerrard's was studs up but was on the ground, which is a legal tackle, worthy of a yellow if mistimed.

Bosingwa's moment of stupidity didn't look dangerous in my opinion, looked like a yellow card to me - but if he doesn't shave or pluck the middle of his monobrow soon I think the FA should pull him up on grooming standards.

Absolutely a red. Clearly Serious Foul Play with Studs Up. The fact that the other players foot was swinging through (which prevented the studs up from being worse) doesn't take away from Lampard's SFP.

I think Lampard deserved AT LEAST a yellow. When you leave your foot in like that, it's dangerous play. Strikers do it all the time against full-backs who are trying to clear the ball, and it's really dangerous.

The other guy is kicking through the ball with all his might. If he kicks into another player's studs, it can easily break a bone in their foot.

The craziest non-sending-off of the weekend was Shaun Wright-Phillips. There were TWO things he could have been sent off for - the initial challenge plus the kick-out after the foul - and ignoring the first lead to Delap getting a red.

Benayoun should have been shown a Yellow Card for obstruction. As for Bosingwa, am not saying he should have been given a red card, am just saying look at Red Card Offenses numbers 1 and 2. Also, look at the first seven major fouls. Not even a yellow card for Bosingwa? It is preposterous as it is laughable.

Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa will not face any disciplinary action after he stamped on the back of Yossi Benayoun in Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Anfield.

Exactly what I had thought. The linesman's solely to blame for that Bosingwa incident. Riley was behind Bosinwga so he didn't really see the "kick" but the linesman saw everything as revealed in the post match report. My main worry is that even if Instant Video Replays were to be introduced, these are the same people who will be reviewing the Instant Video Replays in the booth. If the linesman didn't see anything wrong with that Bosingwa incident though he was one foot away, what difference will Instant Video Replay make? It is preposterous as it is laughable.

"....because his (ref's) post-match report revealed that assistant Mo Matadar did see the event, under FIFA law, the FA cannot now take disciplinary action." Are you kidding me?

Should we say that it therefore follows that because Riley saw the Lampard tackle, the red card shouldn't be rescinded?
