Disturbing Football Pictures of the Week

Well, arguably more disturbing than CR7 in his undies. These two pictures aren’t related but I like to think this is what Diego Maradona would look like if he saw Sepp Blatter walking down the street dressed in traditional clothes from Uzbekistan. The FIFA czar-for-life is in Central Asia this week undoubtedly spouting off about something while feasting on the region’s traditional sheep’s head dish. Sepp, if you are reading this, here is a little tip. When it is your turn to swallow the sheep’s eyeball, as is custom for the most honored guest at the meal, make sure you have plenty of vodka to wash it down with. If you think big money football clubs leave a bad taste in your mouth, a sheep’s eyeball is much, much worse.

The picture of Maradona comes from 2000 when he was eating sheep’s eyeballs and everything else in sight while checking into drug rehab in Cuba. I haven’t come across any pictures of Maradona today now that he is in a hospital in Argentina for “over-indulging” in food, booze and cigars but for his sake I sure hope a sedated Maradona trying to escape a hospital at 2:30 in the morning looks better than he did seven years ago.
