Donovan Sets LA Galaxy Scoring Record

landon-donovan1Congratulations to USA and LA Galaxy forward Landon Donovan, for breaking the Galaxy’s alltime goalscoring record, previously held by Cobi Jones. Lando has now scored 88 goals for the club in 164 appearances, for an average over six seasons of better than a goal every two games. The Galaxy currently sit on top of the MLS on 50 points from 25 matches, three points ahead of Real Salt Lake. Both have five matches remaining, and defending league champion Columbus are only a game behind RSL, so they’re still in with a shout for the title as well.

He broke the record in grand style, scoring both goals to bring his side back from an early deficit and win 2-1 over DC United. Full match highlights below:
