Down Goes Chelsea’s Home Streak
By: chris | October 26th, 2008Talk of the town will be “Pool’s 4 realz b*ches!!!!”, but more impressive than anything is the fact that they were able to down Chelsea’s 86 game home win streak, going back to February of ‘04. Of course it always had to be Liverpool, a team which has, until last spring, had Chelsea’s number in important games.
Even though it was a Boswinga deflection which gave the Reds the winner, it’s the first time since Chelsea have been held scoreless at the Bridge since, you guessed it, the last time the Reds came to town, a 0-0 draw last February, and first time under The Scolari Revolution. Hell of an end, regardless of the means.

I’m no fan of Chelsea or Liverpool, but hats off to each of them: the Blues for an amazing run, and the Reds for ending it. Now, my only wish is that these two never, ever play again in anything but their required league fixtures.

This has nothing to do with statistics,
Its pure revenge (not the deadly kind) for the CL defeat by Chelsea last year (which happened for the same reason BTW).Its an unwritten law of Football (sort of) and Not everything in football can be measured with numbers, like Tottenham victory for example..

I would like to say that Liverpool did a very good job in defending. Liverpool are really good luck with the reflected goal by Alonso. But, I think Liverpool really deserved the point with their hard work!!
