Can you see how this conversation went at Bristol?

‘Hey, which one is Oguchi Onyewu?’

‘The dark-skinned one with cornrows.’

Who’s posed more of a threat to US Soccer over the past couple of days: Bryan Ruiz or ESPN?

  • Well, I just went to the Serie A front page on ESPN and the picture hasn't been changed there yet. Here, I took a screenshot. Wow.

you know what would be funny...if USSoccer sued AC Milan for not playing Gooch enough which meant he wasn't completely match fit which they could argue led to his injury.
  • Galliani really wants the USSF to pay Onyewu's wages because they can't afford it? The same team that cashed in 80 some odd million for Kaka can't afford it?

Anyone else notice that during last night's game the cameras and announcers didn't acknowledge the fans' Charlie Davies tribute until just after Conor Casey's miss, i.e. the TENTH minute? Fans began chanting Charlie's name after the clock showed 8:01, but ESPN ignored it. They probably still think Y2K was the start of the millennium. Simply staggering...
  • I can remember when ESPN announced the USA's 2006 World Cup 2006 squad live on air, and Bruce Arena had to keep correcting the anchor's pronunciation of Onyewu's name.

Not saying it means anything, just that ESPN has previous.
