Euro Draw ‘08: Conspiracy Theories and the Group O’Death

Yesterday I said that the bizarre reasoning behind the pots in the Euro draw could lead to a Group O’Death of France, Italy, Germany and Netherlands.

How about three out of four?

Group C in the Euros will consist of Netherlands, Italy, Romania, and France. Romania had a strong Euro qualifying campaign, guaranteeing themselves a spot in the final competition long before World Cup finalists Italy or France, so there will be no easy games in this group and two very good teams will go home before the second round.

I haven’t checked the French press yet this morning, but how much do you want to bet that my favorite France coach Raymond Domenech spouts a conspiracy theory or two for me to consume over my morning coffee?

And how much do you want to bet that they’ve changed the way the hosts and the WC champions are seeded by Euro ‘12?

Well i hope Romania , Italy will qualify from the group .. sorry france , holland .. lets be realistis now .. :p .. italy won over france in the group qualy to euro.. and Romania did the same vs holland .. so ITALY , ROMANIA QUALIFY !!!!!!!

Well, the Germany still have to pull their act together. If the Euro started tomorrow, it would be Croatia and Poland racing for the 1st place in the group.

Yeah, count your lucky stars Scotland didn't make it, or they'd probably be in Group C with Italy and France. Except they couldn't be with both of us, so..

Germany lucked out, being the one of the top four teams NOT in that group, even though Croatia and Poland are on decent form. This was the worst seeding I've ever seen.
