Kompany's price tag reported in the press ranged from €8,5m up to €13m as well. And prices for the vdv+Kompany package have been quoted to be around €23m-€25m. I think Hamburg getting €23m-€25m out of the deals to finance the other four players sounds about right. Earning just €16m from player sales and reinvesting €28m wouldn't work for Hamburg without any Champions League money.
