Everyone at Chelsea Hearts Milan
By: chris | February 2nd, 2008
Along with your weekly dose of “Didier Drogba loooves Milan”, a new Chelsea superstar has stepped up to the podium to profess his love for the Rossoneri. First of all, a little look into the off time of Drogbacite. In an interview with his official website, DD said that the boys play a lot of video games and “I often play as AC Milan“, which would mean jack shit if he hadn’t spent the last 6 months hating Chelsea and being linked to Milan. And now Michael Essien joins the choir. But Mikey wants to stay in London. He likes the music.
“I like Italian football very much,” he said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport. “From a tactical point of view it is the best League in the world.
“My favourite team are Milan because they have Kaka, Paolo Maldini and of course Gennaro Gattuso.
“The Italian player I like the most is Gattuso. He is an extraordinary fighter – tough, but fair.”
“London is the best city in the world,” the 25-year-old claimed. “It’s a sea port where hundreds of languages are spoken and where football is played. For us English-speaking Africans who love music it is even more fascinating.”
Am I the only person who feels like the better half of Milan is about to become a retirement outpost for ex-Chelsea players who are just past or entering the final phase of their primes? We could see two strikers get on a one way plane next summer in Drogs and Andriy Shevchenko (don’t think for a second he’s not winding up back in stripes once Ronron and Gila leave). And who knows what’ll happen to Essien down the line if he loves Milan that much. (Gattuso can have that type of effect on a man. Or so I’ve heard.)
Ivan the Freaking Lunatic did his part once he heard this praise and immediately injured himself so that we could have two landmark transfer decisions in the span of a week, eliminating “transfer windows” and allowing for Essien to sign for Milan as soon as he returns from Ghana. What a teammate.

I just hope, some of this turns into a real transfer. Milan could get Drogba and release Ronaldo if he is not able to prove his fitness.
