Everyone wants a piece of David Beckham. Even al-Qaeda
By: Bob | August 20th, 2007
It was just another weekend in the David Beckham in the US affair and once again he helped to save American soccer from its despair. More than 66,000 people showed up at Giants Stadium and they were treated to a game that featured nine goals and more excitement than just about any other MLS game this year. Truly good stuff.
After the game, Beckham flew across the pond to play the role of savior once again. This time he must save England’s injury-decimated national team. After he touched down in London and before he got to chatting with Arsene Wenger at the training session, he might have stopped to pick up a tabloid or two, including the News of the World, which is reporting that Becks, Wayne Rooney, and Thierry Henry are part of an al-Qaeda terror plot (insert scary sounding music!). That terror apparently doesn’t include forcing the footballers to listen to P Diddy and Justin Timberlake songs, however, because the musicians are also mentioned as targets in the Internet video
The sports stars are branded EVIL for being CRIMINAL influences on young Muslims.
The sick film shows a picture of Manchester United ace Rooney with the headline: “Why do u love the evildoers?”
Beckham, who is now at LA Galaxy, is shown under the caption: “What made u among the losers?” And the slogan across an image of Henry asks: “Why do u imitate the people of desires?”
Man talk about a low blow. Sure Rooney’s girlfriend is annoying, but to call her an evildoer is taking it one step too far. Beckham might be playing for a team that is having a dismal season but it isn’t his fault he has to play with Quavas Kirk, Josh Tudela and Carlos Pavon. And before they target Henry they should at least give him time to imitate the people of desires properly.
Terrorists are so insensitive.

I don’t know about saving England, there won’t be a more pointless game played all season than the Germany one on Wednesday. The Brand will get a little publicity shot in the arm, though no sign of Posh yet.

Isn’t bin Laden a Gooner? What do you bet he’s just pissed at Henry’s transfer like the rest of us?
