“Explaining to Your Wife How Your Naked Photos Ended up with Another Woman,” by Ashley Cole

(As if Ashley Cole didn’t already have enough mobile phone rumors attached to him…)

So let’s say you’re a famous footballer. Who just happens to be married to a very beautiful woman. And you have a history of… Oh… How shall we say this…? Maybe “a history of having a bit of difficulty keeping it zipped,” would be accurate.

And let’s say naked of photos of you (what is it with players and naked photos of themselves on their mobiles?) suddenly appear in the possession of a topless model. Who, for the record, is nowhere near as beautiful as your wife.

How do you explain it to the wife?

Blame it on your mates, obviously.

The £82,000-a-week footballer has admitted taking the pictures of himself on a mobile while staying with the England squad at a hotel in Watford.

But he denies sending them to Miss Wild, claiming he passed on the unregistered pay-as-you-go phone to close friend Jay Wynters, who in turn gave it to another friend. That friend is said to have found the images and sent them to the model.

‘Someone has used it to pretend to be me,’ said Cole. ‘I would laugh if my foot didn’t hurt so much.’

Yup. That’s obviously what happened.

Because doesn’t everybody take naked pictures of themselves for fun when they’re alone in a hotel, and then leave them on the phone, which then lend out to friends?

Ashley’s out for several months following an ankle-breaking challenge this week by US player Landon Donovan, who’s currently at Everton on loan.

Has anybody checked Landon’s bank account recently for mysterious payments from Ashley’s wife Cheryl?
