FA to Probe Spurs Fan Attack on Frank Lampard

Not content with waiting until 4am to punch a footballer outside a nightclub, a Tottenham fan decided it would be a swell idea to attack Chelsea’s Frank Lampardafter the teams’ FA Cup match Monday. As you can see in the video below, he was rewarded for his effort by being stomped on by players and stewards alike. He then was carried off the pitch which was probably a good thing because you would have to be one intoxicated idiot to try to attack a player on the pitch. At least wait until you see him in the airport.

Said Lampard, who showed a surprising degree of agility while avoiding the big, sloppy punch:

“I saw the guy coming and wanted to keep my eye on him because if I turn my back, I thought I might get one on me,” Lampard said.

“I just ducked and the stewards got to him. The way he ran at me I think he’d had a few drinks.

“I don’t think he should have been on the pitch in the first place, but you can understand there’s a lot of emotion in a match like this.”

The Football Association is now investigating the matter. Considering the video evidence they probably won’t need to hire Inspector Clouseau to sort it all out. One thing they might consider is trying to find some new shoes for the stewards. They fall down more often than Cristiano Ronaldo.
