Fan for a Match: If only there were still Communists around to Blame

By: Bob | September 18th, 2006

yakov.jpgIt has now been more than a month since we experienced our first and only taste of Fan for a Match victory. Our adopted team this past weekend, the Russian Far East side Luch Energiya, could only manage a 1-1 draw at home against those no good bastards from FC Moscow.

Considering the luck we are having with our Fan for a Match experiment – one win in seven selections – a draw isn’t a horrible result, but bear in mind that FC Moscow had to fly ten hours on a Russian plane before even taking the pitch in Vladivostok. The odds that a Russian plane falls apart during a ten hour flight are better than a team pulling out a road draw in such a situation.

We’re really not sure where to turn to next for a win, but that is where you can come into play. Leava a comment or fire off an email to bob [at] theoffside.com with a suggestion for the team we should support next weekend. We’ll make our choice on Thursday and if we don’t come out on top we’ll come to your town and hunt you down.
