Fatty Meat Product FC

peperamifc.jpgWhen your club toils in the mid-table of the always fun, but rather obscure Wimbledon and District League in England, any publicity is good publicity. That, and the possibility of some needed sponsorship revenue, is the only explanation one can come up with for the recent name change for one of the league’s clubs. You should no longer call them Wandsworth FC, but instead, they shall be known with much affection as Peperami FC.

What is Peperami, you might ask. Well, it is a spicy pork and beef sausage snack with the slogan “Peperami: It’s a Bit of an Animal”. Which bit of animal is used is anyone’s guess, but the Peperami Original has no less than a 49% fat content. It is safe to say that the lean times are certainly over for Wandsworth FC.

The Peperami FC Web site does little to enlighten us about the club, but it does offer the opportunity to play a game where you can hurl insults at a referee and presumably tell him to stuff a sausage where the sun don’t shine.
