I like Metz too. And to be honest, with some sound management, a promoted team can make inroads in Ligue 1. If you look at the standings right now, teams like Nancy, Nice, Le Mans, and Valennciennes are regular relegation prospects. But they hacked it out in L1 and are now making a comfortable nest in the top ten (much to the grievances of the giants, Marseille and PSG). Nancy is especially a good example to follow: they are only three points behind Lyon but have a game in hand, have one of the smallest budgets in L1, didn't buy a SINGLE player this summer but sold off a few, and yet they have the third best attack and the best defense. And that's mostly due to inspired coaching, playing, and managing.
