FIFA’s Photo Selection Team Wins The Ballon D’Or
By: The Offside | January 7th, 2013
The gala to decided who will come second to Lionel Messi this year is happening currently, and the show is…well, it’s an award show. Some stuff happens, people get trophies, everyone’s judged for what they wear and everyone goes home thinking mailing the trophy would’ve sufficed. This year, however, the FIFA photo selection team has stolen the show. Jose Mourinho was not at the awards for whatever reason, so they needed to put up a stock image of the probably-lame duck Real Madrid coach. The expression couldn’t be more priceless; a man longing for something never to come. (Vicente del Bosque won the trophy, obviously.) Then came the Cristiano Ronaldo montage, and first up was a nice image of a young Cristiano, fresh off a good cry. Not much has changed.
