Fire Fire: Chicago Sack Dave Sarachan

By: Bob | June 20th, 2007

fire-fire.jpgThe word on the street, or at least from The Red Card, is that the Chicago Fire have brought an end to the Dave Sarachan era by firing him Wednesday. The Fire were 4-6-2 this season under Sarachan and at times played some of the poorest, more uninspiring soccer in Major League Soccer. Sarachan took over in Chicago in 2003 and led the club to two US Open Cup championships, a Supporters Shield and an appearance in the MLS Cup. In my entirely uninformed opinion, I think he lost his players this year and a change of scenery will do both Sarachan and the Fire a world of good. The question now becomes who will replace him and what does a Web site do when its mission is accomplished.
