Football Manager 2009 Trailer Released

Do you have an incredible amount of free time on your hands? Do you not care if you ever [insert verb of your choice here] a girlfriend? Are you indifferent about bathing frequently? If so, then pay attention: Football Manager, the game which allows you to pretend you’re Rafa Benitez, Carlo Ancelotti or The Voyeur, has released a lengthy trailer for the 2009 edition, due to be released November 14th, sending everyone from the ages of 13-22 in and around Europe into a tizzy. (Maybe those a bit older, as well, but most would never admit it.)

Presumably the good people at Sports Interactive who make this game every year sit down when it’s time to discuss the next edition and ask, “alright, how can we make this more addictive than crack?” and then set off to work. Usually they’re pretty successful, as one guy in the beginning of the trailer attests to having lost a girlfriend over the game, a club which I’m sure has many sheepish members.

The second vid doles out the new bits of this year’s edition, the most notable of which is 3D gameplay, making it more like an actual video game. They’ve also got press conferences so you can speak English like Fabio Capello and transfer rumors so you can yell at the game like you do at goal.com, among other things.

So there you go – November 14th. But might I suggest, should you have any aspirations to do anything with your life between November and March, picking up a heroin habit instead?
